My Life on the Farm
I have a full time job, but my passion is being on my central Iowa farm, which is increasing in size. I would like to take this land and transform it from a hobby into a livelihood. Then I could spend all of my time growing plants and animals and sharing these things with everyone.
The farm now has 28 acres of cropland, hayfields, pasture, the beginnings of an orchard, expanding vegetable gardens, and livestock. The livestock includes one production cow, a herd of 23 breeding goats, flocks of geese, chickens, ducks, and peafowl. I am working on cleaning up the old home place. Instead of a raccoon trailer, the plan is to build an on-farm market and events center.
This center is intended to share the beautiful country with people. It will be an opportunity for individuals to visit with the animals, see the flowers, and enjoy Mother Nature’s beauty. It will be a place for family and friends to gather in celebration. Eden Hills will be a place for people to come enjoy and learn.
This blog chronicles the work as I make this dream a reality. Because we do not yet have our market and events center built, the best way to share this wonderful life is through my writing and pictures. Hopefully, you will enjoy this blog and want to come visit us in the future.

Where is your farm located. No details, just a state. Me and my girls are on a virtual farm tour and like to keep track of the places we have visited.

I am in central Iowa.

Hey neighbor! I’m from southwest Iowa! You have a wonderful blog. I’ve had a great time looking around. Your goats are SO cute. I don’t know much about goats, but my kids have been begging us to let them get a couple. I’ll have to some them yours.

So glad to hear from you. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed reading. I will definitely have goats looking for forever farms this year. If everyone has babies, I’ll have twenty-two nannies having kids. That’s way more than I can handle now.
